Quiet Weekend

Flip FlopsQuiet weekend all round. My wife was on a 48-hour mission involving a wedding in Penrith and the photography and editing thereof. She was acting as “second shooter” to a professional wedding photographer, her first really big job, so naturally she was nervous. It was experience she could get nowhere else, though, and it seemed to go well. I saw her off at 6am on Saturday and never saw much of her again until last night (Sunday).

That left me and Laura to our own devices. The weather was too hot all weekend for doing much, and without the car we were limited, too. I had a lot to do around the house but for most of the weekend the street was packed with kids anyway so she was happy to be out playing.

It meant I could get on, which was good. My office was given a good tidy and clean, as was a few other rooms and the rabbit hutch. I did some work in the garden and sat outside for a while in the sun, decked in t-shirt, shorts and flip-flops – just like being on holiday again, which was the idea!

In the evening Laura and I had pizza for dinner and watched Spider Man 2. Excellent stuff.

Sunday came and I had a lot of work to do on one of my client’s websites. I had been waiting for him to get back to me as he has changes he wants to make to the first version of his property website. As I shall be out on Monday and Tuesday of this week, I wanted to get through most of it today so I could send him the next draft for Wednesday.

I got some more work done on Green is the Grass and caught up with a lot of email and administrative stuff that has been waiting for ages to get done.

Speaking of next week, we make the move from July to August on Friday. Although I gave myself less to do because of the family holiday, I have not managed to tick as much off as I would have liked. Too much to do and not enough blah blah blah. In other words, this is going to be a busy week.

  1. I’m having a hard time switching back into “writer” mode from “theatre” mode. My head’s not in my work; it’s still at the show.

  2. Lara says:

What a nice weekend! Oh, and next time, you should catch Spiderman 3. GREAT stuff!
