This last week has knocked me right off my schedule for GitG, and I’m now roughly 11,000 words behind. So I’ve upped my daily target for the rest of September to 3,000 words per day in order to get it finished by the end of the month – including making up the 3k I lost yesterday. It would be ridiculous if I failed to meet this target, illness or no illness, so I’m going to do it. That’s as well as everything else.
The day job was incredibly, monumentally, and gigantically dull. I tend to view the happenings in the office from the side, not from above. That would make me elitist. What I see baffles me, nae, depresses me, but then I remember, I don’t really care what happens in the office. The nationwide credit crunch is hitting the public and companies around the UK, just look how may companies have folded or been bought this week alone – and I have my suspicions that The Company won’t escape unscathed from the financial crisis affecting the country.
I got through to the final draft of the 6 Nations article. I was going to send it off but as always, I decided to hold onto it overnight just to quadruple check it. No writing jobs worth going for, but I got a call from one of my web clients with a problem on their site – GNHosting again – so I spent the rest of the evening moving their account to UK2.net. It was work that had to be done but it cut into my writing time.
I’m setting my alarm for 5am sharp tomorrow to get stuck right into the writing.

Good for you. Just keep at it. I figured I need to write 5K/day, spread out over several projects, if I’m going to meet my deadlines in the next three months.
Just thinking about it makes me tired, but I have to dig down and do it.
