Busy Is Better

A Busy Man

Not much to say about today really. I worked late last night because I knew I didn’t have to get up quite so early today. I had the day off and most of it was used productively, though I did gave to run a few errands around town.

Some assignments came in from my contracted client and with those and the work backlogging slightly, I’m falling behind in all sorts of things. I’m not sure where the build-up has come from, but I’m conscious if I don’t clear it by Sunday I’ll struggle when the Muse Writing Conference starts next week. That’s going to take up a significant amount of time, and with my other must-dos and the day job being heavy going at the moment, I can’t see me getting much sleep.

But then, I’d rather have the problem of too much work than the other option.

I worked through another draft of my Slick synopsis today. I know I had marked it as complete, but it has been bugging me that it is sitting at just over two pages – I WANT it to be two exactly when I send it out. So I keep cutting and cutting and I’m going to do it. It still needs another chop.

I forgot to mention a few days ago I purchased the domain name for my freelance business, Compass Freelance. My plan is to amalgamate the writing side of the business with the web design side, and bring it all under the one umbrella. This should make marketing much smoother and give customers a single point of contact, since very often the two branches cross over.

At the moment www.compassfreelance.co.uk points to my freelance writing site, but I’ll bring the web design site under it soon – maybe even give it a new look into the bargain to match the business cards I ordered for it.

Got to go. I have so much work coming in from all angles at the moment that blogging has been a bit of a distraction today. Talk soon!

Good to know you’re busy … combining stuff into that Web site sounds a good idea, could be a time safer and general efficiency aid!
