In about three and a half hours I will be leaving for Edinburgh Airport. From there I will fly to Palma, Majorca, where I will get on board a floating city and cruise the Mediterranean Sea for the next fortnight. Am I excited? A touch. Do I feel like I need it? Absolutely.
It’s been a tough few weeks – deaths, mourning, illness – and I’m at a point where I feel my well has almost run dry and I lack the most basic of motivation to get me going. This blog post is the first thing I have written in nigh two weeks.
So, I bid you all farewell. I’ve got my notebook and pens, my netbook and camera, and a selection of novels (Auster, McIlvanney, Self, and Camus) so I have some good reading. I plan to do a lot of walking through places like Siciliy, Barcelona, Cannes, Nice, Rome, and more. I’m going to take a lot of photographs, eat well and relax extraordinarily.
I’m hoping to post some photographs of my travels on this blog as I go, but it will all depend on there being a decent WiFi or internet connection. The ship seems to have everything else so I don’t see why not.
Hope you all have a great July. See you all on the other side!
