Snow, snow, snow everywhere you look! Yesterday morning the thin layer of snow that had fallen on Sunday night had frozen to the ground, but last night as I looked out the window, a blanket of soft white snow was descending fast from the dark skies and layering Leith with its silkiness. This morning most of it had remained so I had a most enjoyable trip to work.
It just occurred to me I should have taken some pictures for the blog. I think I should start doing more of that, it’ll make things more interesting, don’t you think?
Snow aside things are crawling ever so slowly towards the big day. I realised I still have to take delivery of two items, one of which I will pick up tomorrow, the other I know I will have to pick up from the P.O. at some point because it is too large. Every year Gail’s gift is the last to arrive no matter when I order it. Bloody typical. At least this time I already have most of her presents already in stock.
Speaking of Gail, she triumphed with dinner last night. She’s taken a sudden and unexpected burst of culinary desire, and it’s Laura and me who are reaping the benefits. The other night she made white chocolate muffins, and last night she made fresh salmon with lemon, dill, and Hollandaise sauce, accompanied with an assortment of roasted vegetables and potatoes. And ff that wasn’t enough, we also had fresh carrot and coriander soup to start and some of those muffins with tea for pudding!
I sent off the last of my Christmas cards and overseas gifts today. I timed it beautifully, popping into the P.O. on my way to the dentist, I managed to catch the queue in a slump and only had to wait five minutes to get to the front. That’s the way it should ALWAYS be!
Didn’t get time to do anything last night what with the way things are just now, but that’s just the way it goes.
Work was stressful. I’m bound by confidentiality so let’s just say it was an interesting test of my measure and ability to understand how other people operate.
Today: day job with some errands to run on the way home. Tonight: Hopefully get some work done.

I bet Edinburgh looks lovely in the snow — until the bus fumes get all over it! the meals sound terrific.
Serious amount of snow in BoW. Snow inches thick and still falling. Garden and fields at the back of the house pure white. Lovely to look at from the window but car now rendered useless in garage. Hope it clears for weekend.
