Gigs Galore

I had a fantastic start to yesterday with another couple of gigs lined up to my expanding superlist: The Charlatans in October in Edinburgh and then Roger Waters performing The Wall at the O2 in London next May.

I’m absolutely over the moon about the latter gig as it has always been a dream of mine to see Waters in concert. It’s going to be spectacular and it will also mean a long weekend in London for Gail and I—double plus!

All that remains is to get a couple of hours with Dave Gilmour and I’ll be happy. Since I can never see Pink Floyd in the flesh (no pun intended) this is the very next best thing any Floyd fan could hope for. Apart, perhaps, for Aussie Floyd who always raise a goose bump or two when they come to town.

The full list of gigs I have on the go at the moment are:

2010
Supergrass – 8 Jun
Limp Bizkit – 26 Aug
Gorillaz – 8 Sep
Charlatans – 8 Oct
Biffy Clyro – 26 Nov

2011
Roger Waters – 12 Oct

I dedicated last night to the Ranfurly Review—preparing the June issue as well as deciding on its future, or at least, my short term future with it.

I know I said in my GDR plan for this month that I was going to move the magazine into hiatus but having sat on it a while longer and seeing the June issue coming to fruition, I’m not sure if I could let go so easily. We’re about to publish the 11th issue—surely that cannot be the end? To be honest, I don’t want it to be, and so I think after all this deliberating and to-ing and fro-ing I’m going to work harder at it to make it easier to produce. SLIMLINE, that’s the way to go, as is pushing ahead with the issues so I’m always one step in front.

The June issue, if you were wondering, will be available over the weekend.

I’m really tired this morning. I’ve just had a large black coffee with an egg and black pudding roll (yes, in the same roll) so things are on the up already. It’s been a long week at the day job with much intensity on the technical side as well as the rest of what the job entails, so I’m looking forward to the weekend with much enthusiasm.

As I said, I’ll get the new issue of RR published, find time to do some reading and watch a film or two, and I expect to be able to push forward mightily with GATECRASH. I also have to redesign my submission lists (after Devon’s post), and turn around all my submissions.

It’s going to be a busy weekend! Peace out.

No wonder you were peeved about my 2 day week! Mind you, I’ve been just as busy, burning the candle at both ends for the annual.

Good news on the gigs, and Roger Waters – what a treat.
