Birthdays, Birthdays

Birthdays, Birthdays

First today, let me wish a huge happy birthday to Mr. Graham McPherson, a.k.a., Suggs. Not only is today Suggs’s birthday, but he also turns the grand old age of 50. Yup, Suggs officially becomes an old man!

Suggs, if you didn’t already know, is the front man for Madness, but over the past twenty years or so has also carved out a successful career for himself in television and radio. Happy birthday big man, you’ve put a smile on the face of thousands over the years, now it’s your turn.

A New Life
Speaking of birthdays, tomorrow is the day my sister has been scheduled for a caesarean section to give birth to her second child, my third niece/nephew. There was much discussion at the weekend whether it will be a girl or a boy, but either way the amazing thing is he/she will share the same birthday as Chas Smash, the powerhouse behind Madness and one of my all time top geysers. Good luck sis – we’re all thinking of you.

Feeling Dreadful
I felt dreadful all day yesterday. I snivelled, shivered and shuffled my way around the office, then almost fell asleep at a 90 minute briefing session. It was one of those head dropping meetings when the sudden drop of the neck and a snort brings you back round at the very last moment and you feel as though everyone is looking. The day job saw a major success come my way, however, so I left feeling mentally better than I had done when I arrived 9 hours earlier.

When I got home I went straight to bed. I wrapped myself up and buried myself under the duvet for a couple of hours, which helped slightly by at least giving me enough energy to get back in front of the computer later on.

Evening Work
I had two main tasks to take care of: make a serious start to the next assignment on the Savvy Authors workshop – a western/historical take on my story, THIS IS IT – and work through further enhancements to Gail’s new website for her photography business, which need to be completed asap if she is to take advantage of some new year marketing opportunities. I made a good dent in both.

I left it late before leaving for work today and I shall leave early, too. I had to go in to the day job today, though, in order to finish some work that is close to deadline but that if left I would be unable to stop thinking about. Tonight will be the same as last night: website work and the completion of the next assignment.

Until tomorrow!
