Suddenly Life Was More Than French Fries, Gravy and Girls

By the time you read this I shall be on my way to northern England with a few of my chums, The Diners.

We call ourselves The Diners after the 1982 movie Diner, starring Steve Guttenberg, Mickey Rourke and Kevin Bacon.

It told the story of the true spirit of friendship retained by some young chaps who, after they all got married or went their separate ways through the passage of life, vowed to each other they would always remains friends.

And that’s what these weekends are all about: making sure we never lose touch and remaining close and united, and above all, true to what brought us all together as pals I the first place.
