Last night, through the aid of technological advances and my Mac, I launched a way that readers can join in the scheme without having to even logon to their home computers!

All you have to do is either scan the QR Code you can see at the top of this page with your Smartphone (you can scan direct from the screen). If you don’t have a Smartphone or QR Code scanner app installed, then simply text the word 3BOOKS to the number 88802.

How simple is that?

Manic
There was a major rush on yesterday morning, a rush to write an email and get it sent. A simultaneous tweet was posted by Malcolm Middleton and Aidan Moffat announcing a gig in Glasgow on November 17th. Yup, Arab Strap would reform and play at Nice n Sleazy’s in a one-off gig to celebrate the venue’s 20th birthday. And there was no way in hell I was going to miss it.

But despite them still tweeting about tickets being on a first come first served basis three hours after I emailed them, I received a “sorry you were unlucky” email at 4am this morning. Gutted!

Trees for Life
Please check out the Trees for Life charity exhibition at Out of the Blue (The Blue Drill Hall) 32 – 36 Dalmeny Street, Leith. It’s free entry and it’s only on until Saturday 14th (10am-5pm). You’ll get to see some wonderful art from all around the world to raise money for the Caledonian Forest renewal in Scotland.

You’ll also be able to see my entry of four haiku poems, one for each season, which is available for purchase, signed and mounted. Or you can just buy it direct from the website!
