On Friday I left Scotland and flew south to the sunny el paradiso that is the Spanish Blackpool, Benidorm!
My fellow Diners and I jumped on board a morning plane from Glasgow, and after a raucous flight that was so loud you had to shout to be heard while talking to the person next to you; it seemed as if the very booze we were consuming was keeping the plane up in the air!
It was madness, and by the time we landed in Alicante to a huge roar from the cabin (and a “thank God for that” from the Easyjet cabin crew) we were off to sample the delights that Benidorm has to offer: mainly pubs.
The weather was decent for November: warm during the day and cold at night, but the nightlife was spectacular: loud, packed and with the bevy as cheap as chips and guts sore from all the laughter, it’s little wonder we were still standing by 5am the next morning(s).
It was a great weekend with the lads, full of booze, laughter, frolics, jumping around, belly slagging and back patting—here’s to the next one!
Home Sweet Home
Arriving home on Monday night I was shattered and never made it into work the next day. It’s the first time I’ve tried to go straight back to work after a Tour, but it wasn’t going to happen—I was just way too tired so elected to take an extra day off instead.
Bookmarks
Yesterday afternoon, it was back to work. First up was to design and order brand new bookmarks to match my new website design. I think it’s best to keep them in line to push the brand, so now I have one for my crime/paranormal fiction and one for my kids’ poetry.
Dinner & Websites
In the evening Gail and I had dinner with friends. Jill is having her wedding album created by Gail and I’m helping out Scott with the website for his driving school, so it was a kind of business meeting too.
We had pizza and pasta, which after the weekend I’d had, was just the tonic my tummy needed. And then afterwards, we got into the nitty gritty of the website and other marketing ideas.
That’s pretty much it. By the time we got back it was late and I was off to bed to finish the recuperation my aching body needed. Now that it’s all over, I have two things working behind me: recharged batteries from seeing my pals again, and a strong urge to get back into the work I was doing before I went away. I’d best get on.
