Get Over It
I felt absolutely downtrodden going to the day job yesterday and it was all down to the thought of missing that blasted Arab Strab gig. It got stupid when people were tweeting they had a spare ticket just out of spite. A total wind up. Wankers.

I followed the events on Twitter and await full reviews, but although it went quiet during the gig, what came out afterwards sounded like a legendary moment had passed. The amount of people that Tweeted about it to the amount of people that venue holds was scores over the top, but there is no doubt it sounded an absolutely spectacular gig, a total one-off, and I wasn’t there.

This morning, I feel pretty depressed about the whole thing to tell you the truth.

I need to get over it; I need to spend a night in a top quality mosh pit so that I can sweat and heave for two hours to get it out of my system.

Oh yeah! Two weeks today I’ll be going to see Shed Seven at the Glasgow Barrowland. That should do very nicely indeed!

Leith Poetry and Royalties
This book is now nearing completion on the editing front and it’s time to start thinking of a front cover. I’m going to ask Gail to help me with this one but I need to generate some ideas first. I know the look and feel I want, it’s just where to and how best to try to capture that.

On the subject of poetry, I received my revenues for my October sales and was startled at the amount I’d been sent. I worked it out: since I began promoting under Chas Stramash, my print poetry book sales have rocketed by 300%!!

So despite me offering them for 86p on Kindle and free as an ebook download, the demand for the print edition has gone through the proverbial roof! Go to www.chasstramash.com and check it out if you don’t believe me.

Paranormal Fiction
I made another huge dent in the progress of BACCARA BURNING. It’s well over half way now and I can see it shaping into the final version I know I’m going to be happy with. When I think back at the pain this book has caused me, to get to this stage at all gives me a huge amount of pleasure indeed.

Tonight
Gail and I are meeting up with my photography chum, James Christie (of Edinburgh Photography Tours), and his girlfriend Mhairi, this evening for some drinks. I’ve snuck in a wee meal with Gail beforehand, which I booked yesterday, in a lovely wee restaurant I took my Mu too in the summer.

The Friday Vid
This week the Friday Vid can only be one thing: Arab Strap. It’s not a video as such, but the audio of one of their biggest cult hits: The First Big Weekend, a song that captures exactly what it’s like to be Scottish and young and living in an area that does nothing for you. Enjoy. If you can’t here it, click here.
