Slick Cover Art and a Happy Shed Seven Anniversary

An awesome day’s work yesterday and a blasting start to December!

GDRs for December
I started off by setting up my December plan of work, using the success of November as a springboard for launching into the next stages on several areas and tying off the remainders.

At first glance, December looks like I am placing a massive demand on myself that will potentially rock the boat so much as to let water in, but a lot of the items, particularly under the Poetry and Marketing sections, are small tasks that won’t take much steam to complete.

I posted my full plan here on the blog last night; click here to read December’s Goals, Dreams, and Resolutions December plan of work.

Ranfurly Review 17 Out
I published issue 17—the winter issue—of the Ranfurly Review. As well as some brilliant fiction and poetry, this issue also comes complete with a special feature interview and showcase from the winner of the Poetry Superhighway contest winner for 2011, Amber Decker. Go check it out—its a free PDF download so you cant lose!

Slick Cover Art
The big news of the day, though, was that the work on the front cover for SLICK went through. I was sent a draft of it by the artist, and it blew me away.

It captures the essence of the story, the speed of Ronnies life and the metaphorical crash, but it also defines the moment in the book when his life changes forever when he fakes his death (also the passage Ive used as the extract on the website).

And so for your viewing pleasure, here it is:

SLICK by Colin Galbraith

I cant thank the artist, JT Lindroos, enough for the work he did on this cover (as well as others that are also coming through). His work is top notch, and if you need an ebook cover (or full jacket), then Id highly recommend him. You’ll find him here: JT Lindroos Website.

Anniversary
Today is the 11th anniversary of the first official date with my wife. I say official, because I’d been chasing her for the three months leading up to it; I knew I wanted her, that’s about all I can say.

We went to a pub in Rose Street after work, where I cast my spell and worked the magic that saw us getting engaged thirteen months later.

To celebrate this occasion, I have therefore today decided to head through to Glasgow to get pished and attend the awesome Shed Seven gig. The gig is at Glasgows Barrowland, THE only pace to see a gig, which means it’s going to be heaving, sweaty, exciting, and mad as hell. Its also in the name of celebrating the 15th anniversary of their seminal album, A Maximum High, which is what the day is going to be really—one hell of a maximum high!

Happy anniversary honey—love you loads! 🙂

Weekend
Tomorrow’s blog post is going to be late and may not happen until Sunday. I’ll be crashing over at my sister’s pad in Glasgow tonight, and am being interviewed for a magazine or something (not actually sure what) in my capacity as a writer on Saturday afternoon. It should be fun providing I can manage it without a hangover. Mind you, it wouldn’t be the first time…

That’s all for today except to remind you of the fabulous deal I have running just now, the 3 Ebook Deal—it’s an absolute steal!
