And December is up and running! There’s a ton of work sitting in front of me right now in the lead up to the release of SLICK, so stay tuned as everything gathers pace towards the big day.
The Mighty Shed
It was a belter, Friday in particular, being a day to remember. I was through in Glasgow for lunchtime for a day in the pub with my sister and her boyfriend, Binny and Derek. We had a great laugh with lots of excitement before the gig, which ended with a splendid night at the Barrowland to see Shed Seven.
The band was on top form, as was the crowd, with my sister getting the opportunity to sing into the microphone with her hero Rick Witter during the song, Getting Better. Excited? she nearly wet herself!
It was little wonder then, that after a night in the mosh pit we were all pretty knackered. Kebabs and pakora all round then before we all crashed out at my sister’s flat.
A full review of the gig will be up at the Man in the East website before the end of the day.
Saturday Interviews
Saturday was much slower to get going. Derek left early leaving my sister and I to head round to the world famous Café Ludovic, where a full-on Scottish fry-up was duly ordered and (almost) finished.
Into town afterwards, and I had been asked for an interview by Claire Steele, a student at Glasgow City College who is writing a paper on fiction writers. As I was passing through Glasgow anyway, it worked out well and I was happy to help out.
I met my sister after the interview, who had gone into town to do some Chrimbo shopping, and we miraculously found a table in the Costa Coffee in St. Enoch’s Square to sit and enjoy a latte and cup of tea.
The train home was mobbed, but it raced the journey so I managed to make it home by half past six in time for some dinner.
Sunday
Yesterday it was back to work and was all about SLICK. All that remains is to complete the polish up of the manuscript and then format it for the different outlets. Sounds easy, but it’s time consuming and drawn out, particularly when you add the marketing of the book into the equation.
Damn exciting, though, and I’m looking to seeing the book out there. Do you like the front cover? I have to say, I think it’s a belter and I love looking at it.
That’s the catch-up and all your getting today, except to remind you of the fabulous deal I have running just now, the 3 Ebook Deal—it’s an absolute steal!
