By this morning, there was still no overnight news to report other than my sister had received an epidural for the pain. Nolon mentioned he hoped we all got a good night sleep because neither he or my sister did. I told him I slept like a log, and reminded him that he is about to become a father, so sleep isn’t a luxury he can expect for the next few years. I think he had forgotten that.
The day job dragged, partly because it was just so mind numbingly boring, but also because I was on tender hooks all day waiting for the phone call to confirm my sister had safely given birth. Finally, at 8:50pm I got the call from my mother.
My sister gave birth to a bouncing baby girl called Charlotte Rhodes Owen, who came into the world at 4:48pm and weighing in at 8lbs 12oz – and she was early! I’m delighted for them both and can’t wait to see the newest member of our family tomorrow evening.
I’m too excited to write anything else for today – see you tomorrow!
